One of Nissan’s most dynamic offerings, the 350Z carries with it a long line of loyal drivers. The Nissan 350Z made its first appearance in 2002. It originally rolled off the line as a coupe but was eventually offered as a roadster come 2004. The Nissan 350Z encompasses the fifth generation of Nissan’s lineup of Z models which dates back to 1969 and the days of the then-fashionable Datsun 240Z. This time around, the 350Z got its start on the heels of the 300ZX and the 240Z. The 350Z was made available right from the start in five different trim levels: Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring, and Track. The vehicle is based primarily off of the 240Z concept and is geared towards attracting a more youthful, style-enthused demographic.
Following Nissan’s removal of the 300ZX from American shores in 1996, Nissan made a push towards reintroducing the 240Z. It was debuted in 1998 at various auto shows but did not go over well due to its initial resemblance to the Bluebird and Leopard. With Nissan pressing to help reignite the company’s faltering status, the Z concept underwent a massive redesign. After the car got a new front end and a VQ35DE engine, the brand was finally comfortable with the result and named the model the “350Z.” Thanks to the buzz following the controversy, the 350Z opened up with substantial success. Powered by the VQ35DE 3.5L V6 and sporting a sleek, smooth body style, it was showcased in various magazines and news pieces, further advertising the car as Nissan’s exciting new sports car. The arrival of the 350Z Roadster in 2004 initiated equal interest. Available in the Enthusiast and Touring packages, the Roadster also boasts a retractable soft-top roof.
2005 saw the release of the 35th Anniversary edition. Introduced mid-year, the 350Z 35th Anniversary edition offered an improved interior and exterior as well as a 300HP/260TQ Rev-up engine. In 2006, such Nissan 350Z parts as Xenon headlights, LED taillights, and a new front bumper were among the notable changes to the model. The following year ushered in even more updates. The original VQ35DE V6 was replaced with a 3.5 L VQ35HR V6 capable of 306 HP. The 2007 350Z also displays a bulged hood for an increased racing-inspired look. The Nissan 350Z has produced solid sales since its inception. It has received a slew of awards including the Japanese Performance Car of the Year for 2007 for Top Speed Magazine, 2004 Car of the Year (Top Gear Magazine), a spot on the prestigious Edmunds.com Editor’s Most Wanted for 2003, as well as a host of other honors. The car’s appearance in numerous late-model racing circuits and popularity with the “tuner” segment has also contributed to the awareness of the 350Z.
Coupe or convertible, the Nissan 350Z comes to the party ready to make an entrance. This restyled model is cut from the original "Z" fabric, and has done its ancestry proud. But make no mistake, this machine knows how to throw a punch of its own. Backed by a steady 3.5 liter V6 and showing off nifty handling, the 350Z is modern sport redefined. Still a popular exhibit on the show car circuit, the 350Z brings fashion, excitement, and performance to a whole new level. Such a vehicle deserves only the best Nissan 350Z custom parts and accessories, and every driver knows that.
